NSRA Rules
The competition has adopted the Sporter section of the NSRA 3P Air Rifle and Sporter Air Rifle Rules 2013. Click here for the full rules.
Extensions
The competition is run to the same ethos as NSRA postal competitions, and a part of its purpose is to introduce young people and their families to some of the harsh realities of competition. No extensions will be granted except for medical conditions or unavailability of the range. All requests must be submitted using the Contact Form. The organisers reserve the right to request a doctor's confirmation of a medical condition that prevents a competitor from shooting if one is not uploaded with the request for an extension.
For the avoidance of doubt the organisers do not permit extensions because of clashes with exams, exam preparation, holidays, other commitments or minor illnesses. It is the responsibility of the competitor, their family and their club or organisation to plan and, where necessary, for the competitor to shoot rounds in advance. We strongly encourage all competitors to shoot at least one round ahead.
Results
As soon as round 4 has been shot shooters will be allocated their correct divisions and are then posted on the website each week . To see them click the Results tab of this website.

Targets

6 yard competition: NSRA Air 7 cards, scoring inwards. 10 shots per card, two per diagram
The Scorer or Witness must ensure that stickers are affixed and the competitor's name written on the card(s) prior to shooting.
Scores
Shooters will be allocated to a Division of no more than 6 competitors, according to average. Each round will be scored individually, with 6 points allocated to the shooter with the highest score, 5 points to the next highest, and so on. In the event of a draw in any round both shooters will be allocated the score for that position.
The overall winner will be the shooter with the highest number of points awarded over the 10 rounds of the competition (maximum 60). In the event of a tie the winner is the competitor who has scored the higher number of points in the season (maximum 1,000). If two competitors have the same number of points awarded and points scored in a season the winner will be determined by using the 'Count Back' system whereby the winner is determined by the highest number of points awarded in Round 10 or in the event of a tie in Round 9 and so on. Points scored will not be taken into account in the Count Back.
Scoring
To be undertaken by a competent person appointed by the organisation that has entered the shooter. Targets must be retained for 4 weeks following the end of the season. Random checks are made to ensure the accuracy and consistency of scoring.
The scorer is responsible for uploading the weekly scores by no later than midnight of the day following the last day for shooting. No late scores will be accepted. Failure to upload scores by the deadline will result in an NCR for the shooter(s).
Where the shooter has shot 11 or more shots on a card the ten lowest scores on that card will count. In addition, one point will be deducted for every additional shot. Example: If a shooter has shot 11 shots on a card, and the highest scoring shot is a 9, that shot will be disallowed. In addition, one point will be deducted from the remaining score.
Where a shooter has shot 10 shots on a card but three or more shots on one diagram one point will be deducted for the third shot and each subsequent shot on that diagram. Example: If a shooter has shot 10 shots on a card, with 4 shots on one diagram, and 2 shots on each of 3 other diagrams, two points will be deducted.
In all other circumstances NSRA rules apply.
